Someone cut you off in traffic, but you killed Jesus. Someone was talking behind your back, but you killed Jesus….such is the wisdom of Todd Friel.
You’d have to try really hard to read this book cover to cover and persist in unbelief. But as one Amazon reviewer wrote about the book: “Drivel that disagrees with actual history. Of course what do you expect from someone who isn’t interested in reality, but spreading his own misinformation?”
As John MacArthur has said, for the unbeliever it’s not a matter of lack of information, it’s not like people aren’t out there spreading the gospel truth, and this book is a great example of that. It’s just a matter of fact that they simply do not have the ears to hear or the eyes to see Jeremiah 5:21. As an upside the book made it on to the top 100 editor’s picks at Amazon for 2014.
One of my favorite verses in the bible is John 14:3 where Jesus says “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. Like many others I find it a profound statement, in particular if you really ponder what is being said there. And we know God is omnipresent. But do we really understand that in a deeper way? Todd’s book is a study of shadows and typology. This was basically God giving humanity a glimpse of what was to come or as Todd says ‘lisping’ to us like babies in ways that we could understand. And he lays out who God is, where he can be seen in the OT (everywhere), his nature and the implications of his nature for all people everywhere. The book leaves readers with a passage from the bible that reveals who Christ really is.
My only complaint and this in no way takes away from the quality, relevance or importance of the book is that there are a few minor spelling errors and one factual error relating to Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson. Tyson neither won a fight against Holyfield or knocked him out. Holyfield KO’ed Tyson in their first meeting and the second time they met produced the famous ear biting incident where Tyson was disqualified. It just seems that the book may have been rushed through to make a deadline release date.
I’ve been a believer since around 2006 and I really learnt a lot from this book, stuff I never would have picked up myself and I highly recommend it to those in the faith and those who are not in the hope that they may too ‘tabernacle with Jesus’.
Just as a end note here but nontheless, very much worth mentioning wretched tv are promoting a new series they are planning on running called ‘Life is Best’.
They recently posted a fairly poignant video (as seen below) that demonstrates fairly clearly the lives lost to abortion since 1973.
